The girls I LOVE
So, lots of things didn't go according to plan this past weekend... Sherry and Margaret's plane got delayed, so they ended up missing their connection flight, so they had to stay in Vegas for a night.
Erika got in on Thursday night, and we ended up staying at the Brock Plaza Hotel at nigara falls.. just the two of us. We got hooked up with a suite, even though we didn't pay for one..and it was SOOOOOO nice. THe beds were amazingly comfy, the pillows were soooo soft, and the room was gorgeous - with living room and all. Here's a pic of the beds:

Friday was Pinky (Erika) Chung and Sandswirl day. =) We slept in... got up, ate yummy potato wedges at Boston Pizza, and went on the Falls Boat tour called Maid of the Mist. I love that boat ride because the sights of the falls is just absolutely breathtaking. They give you ponchos to wear because you totally get sprayed by the mist of the falls... Erika and i forgot to bring waterproof mascara. Booo!

Then we hung out at Casino niagara for a bit:

Afterwards, we went to Buffalo airport to pick up Sherry and Margaret. We headed back to toronto and had dinner at a Korean restaurant near my pad:

The waiter laughed at us when we ordered... he said.. (in korean) "wow you guys must be really hungry huh?"
we were. as always. hehehe
THen we went back to my place, and got ready to go out. We went to one of my favorite venues in Toronto called "The Docks" (which got their liquor license revoked yesterday!)
My girlfriends agreed, it was really awesome. Although we stayed pretty sober up until 1am ... we then we met up with some of my party friends in the VIP section and got free drinks and took tons of shots.

as usual - drunk sherry and sandy heheh

Weekend at Wasaga Beach
I spent the weekend at Wasaga Beach with my Toronto friends. It was really fun because we rented a cottage near the beach for a night, and stayed over. =)
The beach was really nice, and I love that the water was fresh, not salty. I went swimming in it, and the water was sooo nice and warm. I love swimming =)
We also played beach volleyball... We played some games amongst ourselves and also a pick-up game with some other people. It was so fun, I played until i got some bruises on my wrists =P hehe. goodtimes...

Friday Night at Mink
the girls @ mink
me and raylene
on the streets of toronto
Judy and I having drinks at Milestone
Snow Patrol
Chasing Cars
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
Love this song! Also download "Chocolate"

So here's the real update...
Besides posting pix and random things... I haven't had the chance to sit down and really reflect on my experience here in Toronto so far. So here goes...
eBay
The CAFR migration has been going soooo incredibly well. Week after week, my team has not only been meeting all crucial deadlines, but we've been pushing to make various improvements in many processes to ensure not only increased productivity, but reconstructing steps in a way that minimizes a lot of the potential problems that usually get picked up much later in the timeline.
I've been working hard this past month, but who knew it'd feel soooo rewarding!. We've hit a milestone this week, and our progress report is way beyond expectations. I'm so proud to be a part of this project, and it feels so good to know that I am making a difference.
In the last month, work has become a new definition in my book -- its no longer just about doing the job and getting the paycheck.
Life
Life outside of work has been great! I've been meeting new people, hanging out and enjoying the city. Most importantly -- I think it's such an awesome experience for someone to go outside of their comfort zone. In the last month, I feel better than ever. I've been able to do a lot of self reflection and have been refocusing my life in the sense that everything I do is a step forward towards my long term personal goals. On weekdays, I don't do much besides work and work out. I joined a gym that is right downstairs from my office... so it's been really easy for me to just drop in after work. I love living on my own. I come home every night (after work and gym), cook up a little meal for myself and eat it in front of the tv, chat on a phone for a bit, work on some personal projects on my laptop, take my time to get ready for bed, and to work I go the next morning... THIS IS THE LIFE =)
Only big complaint I have is having to kill bugs on my own. I've always had someone to do it for me.. whether it was my brother, dad, mom, boyfriend, or college roommmates (thanks Emily, Wendy, and Marilyn!)... it's been really tough for me -- and it seems like there are just so many bugs in Canada summertime! I'll admit I even broke down and cried once because of it... and I've been a bit of an insomniac because of my bug-paranoia.
But besides that, I've been just dandy =) Also, I'm working on a site redesign and reconstruction, which will roll out soon! That's all for now!!

I'm sooo a 90's kid =P
You're a 90's kid if:
You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE!"
You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"
You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.
(Rest in Peace)
You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How
Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"
You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at
school.
You remember reading "Goosebumps"
You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"
You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
you danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto,
Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you
really really want.)...and wore the 5 in. shoes
You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...
Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.
Captain Planet.
You remember when super nintendo's became popular.
You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull
the pranks on "intruders"
"I've fallen and I can't get up"
Two words... Trapper Keeper.
You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide
You wore socks over leggings scrunched down
"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with
silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE
ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE
ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt
come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow
he stubbed his toe toe toe and thats the end end end of the elephants
show show show
You remember boom boxes vs. cd players
You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool
You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By
The Bell "
You played and or collected "Pogs"
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles
NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS
Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank"
brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)
You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.
You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at
the corners of your eyes.
You remember a time before the WB.
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
You know the Macarena by heart.
"Talk to the hand" ... enough said
You thought Brain woud finally take over the world!! What happened 2 Pinky??
You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"
You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.
You remember when razor scooters were cool.
When we were younger:
Before the MySpace frenzy.
Before the Internet & text messaging.
Before Sidekicks & iPods.
Before MIKE JONES
Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX.
Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.
WHEN LIGHT UP SNEAKERS WERE KOOL
When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.
When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.
When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.
When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.
When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.
When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.
Way back...
Red Light, Green Light 1, 2, 3
Heads Up 7 Up.
Hula Hoops.
Reading R.L. Stine's Goose Bumps.
HELLO....HOT WHEELS!!!!!
"POWER OF LOVE" BY CELINE DION..ONLY COUPLES COULD SKATE TO THIS.
Running through the sprinklers.
That "Little Mermaid"

Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car.
Drinking Squeeze It "Squeeze The Fun Out Of It"
CAPRI SUN
Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in
your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.

Little bear
Under the unbrella tree
PEE-WEE!!!
The Big Comfy Couch
Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.
Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.
Eureka 's Castle!!! (I thought i was the only one lol!!!)
Class field trips.
POGS
When Chris tmas was the most exciting time of year.
When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle. (I still
feel the same way lol!!)
When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.
When Toys R Us overuled the mall.
Go back to the time when:
Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe' catch a tiger by
the toes if he hollers let him go 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'
OR
Bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish how many pieces do you wish??
Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'
'Race issue' meant arguing about who ran the fastest.
Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'.
Act like you didn't watch afro-king BOB ROSS paint trees on T.V.
It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.
Being old referred to anyone over 20.
A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning
the lottery.
Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.
It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people'
rides at the fair. (I still wish i was) lmao
When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.
When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.
DID I DO THAAAAAAAAAT???
Smud and yak back. skip it and pop it.
"Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger, can i take your oorrrrder?"

Memorial Day Weekend
Andy just left this evening and I already miss him sooooo soo much. He came to visit me for his memorial day weekend, and we had such a blast.
It was really such a great feeling to be able to spend some good quality time with Andy this weekend... I can barely describe how great it was to have a loved one here visiting me. After spending a month in a foreign place with new faces everywhere, a person really grows to value the familiarity, friends, loved ones, family to a greater level...
The weekend was eventful but also pretty chill. We packed so much into the three day weekend -- did the touristy stuff: visited the CN tower, had drinks at panorama with will and Judy... watched a lot of movies: da vinci code (didn't like it), and XMen the last stand (liked this one a lot)..
we also rented charlie and the chocolate factory, walk the line, and hoodwinked. Dang.. we watched 5 movies this weekend... we are such movie fanatics.
Andy and I had lotsa good food this weekend toooo.. great cantonese food, korean bbq, italian food.. ate so much i REALLy feel the need to work out now.
And finally... summer has arrived in Toronto... and it's not just warm now, its HOT... I'll post some pix soon. =)
Thank you Andy for coming to visit meeee, for helping me kill all the bugs in my apartment, for helping me carry a box of bottled water from the supermarket, and for simply being the best and most pleasant company a girl could ask for. MUAh!
It was really such a great feeling to be able to spend some good quality time with Andy this weekend... I can barely describe how great it was to have a loved one here visiting me. After spending a month in a foreign place with new faces everywhere, a person really grows to value the familiarity, friends, loved ones, family to a greater level...

LOST SEASON 2 FINALE
ok.. So i just watch the Season 2 FInale of LOST and it was pretty freakin awesome. This finale definitely helped keep the mystery alive. I am just sooooo pissed that i totally missed the last part... the part about Penelope. Someone who has watched it... PLEASE fill me in!!
So, anyway, I can't believe MICHAEL.. what a selfish guy..he better somehow redeem himself and save everyone. But for some reason I feel like he's not really going to be rescued.. I just have a feeling he's going to sail to nowhere...
Before watching this episode, I thought it was going to end up being one big experiment for ppl in need of reform.. sent there by somebody they know. But now, there's obviously something way bigger.. maybe the island IS supernatural.. either that.. or their world is all fake.. and the magnetic stuff was built in . who knows. I'm totally sitting on the edge of my seat. Can't wait until Season 3!

Victoria Day Weekend
I had lotsa fun this weekend. On Friday, I went to K-town with Judy and Will to eat at a Korean restaurant. Afterwards, we went to the Chinese market where I got to buy a lot of good chinese food that i was missing and craving -- rice, zong zi (sticky rice wrapped in a leaf), dumplings, and other goodies. =) I also bought some chopsticks, and the big fat soup spoons that I miss using from home.
After that, they took me to a trendy asian tea place that was pretty neat too.
On Sunday night, we went to a Bday party at a lounge called 8 Under, and then took a cab to a club called Inside. I met a lot of really cool girls this weekend, and really had a blast. =)
